MEET HELEN

Nearly all of my favorite childhood memories trace back to Nature: plucking carrots from my mother’s garden patch before wiping them on my shirt and eating them, feeding crusts of bread to the neighborhood ducks, and riding bikes through the park filled with trees much older than me.

Since then, I have honed my crafts in garden design and care, food cultivation and preservation, hen rearing, beekeeping, and teaching others how to care for their landscapes.

When it comes to tending gardens, there is so much to know, and yet, so much we may never know about how Nature carries out its way of being. I’ve found that working with nature’s processes makes for a more beautiful and sustainable garden.

Beautifying gardens and nurturing them is symbolic for how we treat ourselves, how we treat each other, and for the way we engage in this awe-inspiring Universe.

What customers are saying

“Helen is terrific to work with. Very conscientious and hardworking”

— Steve, Hilltop South

Helen embodies the garden. She, herself is an earth mother! She enriches the soil with compost, worms, and mulch, all those non-beautiful elements which magically become the beauty of flowers, veggies, and trees!”

— Nancy, Montclair

Helen's beautiful spirit shines in her garden work. She is knowledgeable about all things ‘plant’ and works with good energy. After her time at my house, my yard looks fantastic. I would recommend her to anyone who needs help and advice about trees, bushes, flowers and vegetable gardens. She can do it all!

— Julie, Park Hill

“Helen is strong, tidy, smart, and efficient. You know that she loves what she does.”

— Alice, Hampden

“Helen was recommended by a neighbor over a year ago.  In the spring of 2019 I consulted with her about rearranging/amending my front garden and re-doing my back garden.  She listened to what I wanted and after completing the work in the front garden she presented a proposal for the back garden for my review.  After some discussion she incorporated some minor changes in the proposal which she then implemented. I continue to use her services and advice today.  Working with Helen is a pleasure.  She listens well, is open to suggestions and is not opposed to  accepting changes in her plans.  I have recommended her services to family and neighbors and will continue to do so.”
